I’m sailing,
but not fast enough,
not hard enough,
not far enough.

My efforts
are good for you,
but not for me.

My standards
are at the peak,
and I’m at sea.

You say I succeed,
but I want more,
I know I am capable
of more than
you know me for.

The world may be small,
and time might not last,
but I will reach my peak,
if it takes every last breath.
